Group decision making:
The group consists of experts who are best qualified to make decision that affect them. Experts from different field can take better decision than an individual taking the decision independently. Individual person take decision but group decision making have their own advantages:

- Generation of more alternative
- Diversity of information
- Creative decision
- Large volume of information
Disadvantages of group decision making
- Time consuming
- Majority may ignore minority
Techniques of group decision making:
- Brain storming: brain storming technique was developed by prof. Osborn. In brain storming, stressful situation, rapid fire question and time limit to give suggestion.
It is a very popular method to encourage creative thinking in group. Generate many ideas as possible for human beings. In Brain storming, 6-8 people sit in a table and discuss important matter and give ideas and suggestion. Presence situation compared with the past situation. No one can criticize it. All the suggestion which is given by the person properly recorded for latter discussion. When this sequence takes place, a large no. of new and different ideas emerge.
- Nominal groups: This technique was developed by delbecq and van De Ven. He says that no minimum interaction between employees when take decision. No eye contact between people because with hesitation person can’t take correct decision. Every individual gives problem, take ideas and written ideas in paper through votes select best decision which are given by the people.
- Delphi decision making: This technique is developed by prof. Helmer. In which problem is distributed to people individually. And he gives more and more solution or suggestion as possible. After taking all the suggestion, select best decision which is given by all the people. Process is repeated several times until the satisfactory responses are received and final report is prepared.
